About PHAT

Public Health at Tufts (PHAT) is a group dedicated to promoting interest in public health and its practice at and around Tufts.

Public Health a growing field which studies methods and ways to prevent the spread of disease before it happens by promoting healthy lifestyles and healthcare for families, communities and the environment.

Throughout the year, we host many events such as film screenings (like "Sicko" and "Thank You for Smoking"), host speakers from the public health field and participate in many community outreach activities such as visits to a soup kitchen, Halloween on the Hill, Kids' Day and Read by the River.

One of our biggest events is hosting Healthy Week, a fun and exciting week during the Spring during which many groups on campus collaborate to put together a week full of events and tabling in the campus center to promote different aspects of healthy living, whether it is at Tufts or throughout the world.

PHAT is a really great group to be a part of so whether you'd like to take on a big role in PHAT or just attend an event every once in awhile, we'd love to have you participate. Please email me at nadine.kesten@tufts.edu if you'd like to be put on the e-list or if you have any ideas for our group. Thanks and I hope to see you at some of our events and meetings soon!
